How did you first get connected with AS Productions (ASP)?
I joined the team circa 2013 when we were still under the Union Label name. I’ve had a passion for live music ever since I attended my first concert, and I wanted to turn that passion into a lifestyle. I was fortunate enough to come across a listing on the Associated Students page that described everything I was looking for in a job. The rest is history!

How would you describe your role with ASP?
My responsibilities for AS Productions include planning, organizing, promoting and facilitating events on campus. During concerts, I act as a liaison between AS Productions, the attendees and the artists. I have been an MC for numerous events and even dabbled in stand-up comedy for the attendees.

What does working for AS Productions do for you personally, professionally, or academically?
AS Productions gives me the opportunity to create memorable events for students and community members. Whether it’s putting on a concert for 600 people or preparing a sushi workshop for 200 people, there is never a dull moment with AS Productions. I’ve developed strong verbal communication skills for dealing with various personalities as well as adopted practices to better manage my time.

What do YOU bring to the table in your role as the Event Coordinator at ASP?
My supervisor Billy refers to me as a peacock from the personality assessment “who’s who in the zoo.” The peacock’s personality is naturally a socialite and loves to create a fun and happy environment. My passion for creating unique events transfers over to my position with AS Productions. Having good morale and keeping audience engagement at a peak level are key components for a successful event. Effectively communicating with front and back house staff and attendees allows for seamless operations during events.

What are your career plans and how does your job with the Associated Students better prepare you for that path?
I am excited to announce my employment with the renowned Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Lake Tahoe starting in June. I have learned heaps about communication, hospitality and event coordination by working with AS Productions. I plan on using my experiences and skills from AS Productions in order to be successful with the Ritz. It is with a heavy heart that I’m leaving such a fun and exciting organization. I’m prepared to enter the professional world and I have AS Productions to thank for my preparedness. GO WILDCATS!
