Program Position: Student Assistant | AS Productions
How did you first get connected with AS Productions (ASP)?
I attended the first Boba Bingo night in fall 2013 and I decided I would really like to get involved with ASP. Later, I found a job opening on the AS website for a position at ASP and I was hired!
How would you describe your role as Lead Staff at the ASP?
I am part of a team that is responsible for brainstorming and executing all of the events that our program puts on. I keep tabs on what kinds of activities Chico State students would be interested in attending. I plan concerts, movie nights, and other fun events like our popular Boba Bingo or Wrap and Roll nights.
What does working for ASP do for you personally, professionally, or academically?
Working for ASP makes me feel connected to the Chico community. I love coming into the office and hearing about all of the amazing things happening on campus. It also helps me to build my resume with relevant experience for a career I might like to pursue in the future.
What do YOU bring to the table in your role as Lead Staff at ASP?
I bring my love of event planning and my love for our community to the table! I am so proud to be a Wildcat and I work hard to plan events that everyone will enjoy. I also bring my sense of humor to the table! Sometimes when events run long or plans don’t work out quite right it’s best to be able to laugh about it.
What are your career plans and how does your job with the Associated Students better prepare you for that path?
I am passionate about coordinating events. I would love to work in concert booking or special events when I graduate. My job at ASP gives me a chance to gain hands-on experience in the field I’d like to work in once I graduate!
