How did you first get connected with the Associated Students Administrative Office (Admin)?
I first started working for the AS as a student custodian for the WREC. I worked there for about a year and a half when I decided I needed to gain some experience in the business field.
How would you describe your role as a Human Resources Student Assistant with AS Admin?
I help career staff with student new hire paperwork, assign and track trainings, daily office procedures as well as anything else that may come up. I also help students who are looking for jobs by providing them with more information about job availability and the application process.
What does working at the Associated Students do for you personally, professionally, or academically?
Working for the AS has helped develop professional skills that I will definitely be using in the future. I have learned how to work in an office setting as well as how to work with a diverse group of people.
What do YOU hope to bring to the table in your role as the Human Resources Student Assistant?
I would like to provide excellent customer service to anyone that visits our office. Not everyone who comes in has an HR related question, but I like to help them and point them in the right direction. I also want to help out students who want to get a job on campus but don’t necessarily know how to get started.
What are your career plans and how does your job with the Associated Students better prepare you for that path?
I would like to be a financial planner in the near future. Helping people manage their money and prepare for the future is something I would be interested in doing. In my role as an HR Student Assistant, I have gained experience working with others, providing excellent customer service, and have developed a strong work ethic, all essential skills that I will transfer and apply in my career path.
