Hi!!! My name is Makena Ford and I use she/her pronouns. It’s my third year here at Chico State and I’m a child development major hoping to work with elementary level kids in the future as a teacher or counselor. In my free time I enjoy watching tv and movies, listening to music, journaling and collecting vinyl records. Fun fact: I have seen every episode of “Saturday Night Live” to date.
This is my monkey Chimi, short for Chimichanga. He enjoys long walks on the beach, mango sorbet, and stand-up comedy. My best friend and I made each other Build-a-Bears in 2018 and ever since then, they have been on road trips, vacations and keep us connected together when we’re apart at college.
Get to know me more @makenaford on Instagram!

My name is Ellie Cisneros; I go by she/her pronouns. I was born in San Bernardino and will always be a SoCal girl. My major is Liberal Studies with a minor in Math ED. I plan to become an elementary school teacher. Some of my favorite things to do are hanging out with friends and going shopping. I hope I will be able to help students make Chico State feel like home.
I decided to take my picture with my planner because I am a very detail-oriented person. I write and schedule every day in my planner.

Greetings Wildcats! My name is Julissa Paredes. I use she/her/ella pronouns. I’m a first-generation undergrad majoring in Criminal Justice and obtaining my Paralegal Certificate. I’m from Crescent City, CA. I’m a proud Cat mom, her name is Shadow. I love to travel, journal, and listen to podcasts. I also enjoy going to concerts and watching sports. I’m grateful to be a First-Year Leadership Opportunity Facilitator this year. I’m excited to guide you through your first year at Chico State in finding resources on campus and your home away from home. Being a part of FLO previously was the best decision I made. I felt included and supported. In the Brave Space that FLO offers, I’m hopeful that I will connect with beautiful people that will join FLO. ❤
I chose my journal because I can reflect on my thoughts and dreams in it. Having struggled with overthinking in the past, it’s been helpful to me. I also choose my Air Pods because I can listen to my favorite music and podcasts.

Hey everyone! My name is Ashley and I use she/her pronouns. I am a first-generation college student majoring in English Education and Intersectional Chicanx/Latin Studies, hoping to become a high school teacher. Apart from the First-Year Leadership Opportunity, I am also an Advising Intern in the Academic Advising Programs. I am very happy to be a source of guidance for you all and would love to help with any questions you may have. In my free time, I love roller skating, writing poems, spending time in nature, and listening to music. A fun fact about me is that I have played roller derby since I was 11 years old!
I decided to include my roller derby MVP award in my picture to show my love for the sport! I’m very passionate about roller derby because it has taught me so many valuable skills and allowed me to meet so many talented skaters! I have been playing this game for about 9 years and will continue to play until I’m 70!

Howdy, fellow Wildcats! I’m Zion I use they/them/theirs pronouns! I’m a Political Science major in my second year, with a focus on U.S Politics. Originally from Sacramento, California, I am now a proud Chico State Mom💜! I love playing Dungeons and Dragons, going on long hikes, and going thrifting!
Being a FLO Facilitator is a blast! I love meeting and greeting new Wildcats on campus, and I’m stoked to be a part of your Chico State journey! FLO was a total game-changer for me during my first year, and it’s an honor to pass that on to you!
Oh, and speaking of passing things on, check out my little baby goat plushie named Star! They just turned two this June, and I take such good care of them. I tuck them in every night and love having them in my arms. Goats are my favorite animal!

Hello everyone! My name is Lola Renfroe and I go by she/her/ella pronouns. I’m a second-year student here at Chico State and I’m proud to say that I’m an Exercise Physiology major! I hope to one day be a Pediatric Chiropractor. I am from Temecula, California and my favorite things to do back home is play with my dogs and turtle, go to Old Town Temecula, and go thrift shopping. First Year Leadership Opportunity (FLO) was one of the best decisions I made last year as a freshman. I am beyond excited to meet you all and make Chico State feel like a home away from home.
For my item I brought a sonny angel. You all might be wondering why I chose a little doll to be my item. I chose my sonny angel because of the meaning behind them. They were designed to be a tiny companion for people in their mid-20s dealing with the stresses of adulthood. Whenever I look over on my desk and see them, I can’t help but smile. Over summer I got addicted into collecting them and I hope to collect more in the future.
