“Do what you love.”

How did you first get connected with AS Productions (ASP)?
During my first year in Chico I was a member of Freshman Leadership Opportunity (FLO) which introduced me to many leaders and leadership roles on campus. The opportunity to network with these leaders lead me to my current position in ASP.

How would you describe your role as an AS Productions Student Event Coordinator?
As a Student Event Coordinator, I work with a team of programmers bring entertainment to campus that our student body would enjoy. I ensure that the logistics for the event are concise to ensure a smooth and fantastic event. Some popular events I’ve coordinated are our Noon Concerts, Tacos & Trivia, and our Moonlight Movies

What does working for AS Productions do for you personally, professionally, or academically?
Working for AS Productions is an amazing opportunity that I have seized, and it has contributed to my definition of the “Chico Experience.” It has provided many opportunities and has intersecting benefits. Personally, I have met so many amazing people in my workspace that are all dedicated students striving for the best, and to be around that atmosphere helps me be the best I can be as well. Professionally, I have the chance to interact and meet leaders on campus, both students and faculty, which has expanded my network. Academically, I’ve been able to sharpen my organizational and time management skills, which have transferred from working as an Event Coordinator.

What do YOU bring to the table in your role as an AS Productions Student Event Coordinator?
I like to think I bring forward a positive energy and atmosphere that promotes growth within our team. I love cranking logistics, so my organizational skills are one of my favorite things to bring to the table along with creativity.

What are your career plans and how does your role with the Associated Students better prepare you for that path?
After graduating from Chico State, I plan to open a restaurant in Chico. My role as Student Event Coordinator is providing practice on how to work with others, how to build a network, and how to plan accordingly for success.
