July 12 - July 16
Wildcat Wilderness Orientation (WWO) is a fantastic way for incoming students at CSU, Chico to become acquainted with college life through the outdoors. Adventure Outingsʼexperienced outdoor instructors, who are Chico State students themselves, will guide students on adventure-filled trips throughout Northern California, where they will dive into activities such as backpacking, kayaking and rock climbing.
For those wanting to experience both the land and the waters of northern California, Redwoods Backpack and Inflatable Kayak is the perfect combination. Start off your journey hiking through the lush forests of Redwoods National Park where you will camp under giant Redwoods – one of the world’s tallest trees – and lunch between sprawling ferns and mossy boulders. Along the way, you will engage in leadership and community building activities, as well as learn the ins and outs of college life at Chico State. After backpacking, you will drive over to the Trinity River and spend the final day of your trip inflatable kayaking through class 2-3 rapids.
