Ella Snyder, Senator for the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences

Ella Snyder

San Luis Obispo, CA | Political Science – Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, & Psychology

Hello Wildcats! My name is Ella Snyder, and I am so excited to be serving as your elected 2020-2021 Director of University Affairs. I am triple majoring in Political Science (Legal Studies), Criminal Justice, and Psychology, while also pursuing my Paralegal Certificate. With my undergraduate education, I plan to attend Law School in the future, and eventually practice as a criminal defense attorney. My involvement on campus includes participating in the Wildcat Leadership Institute (WLI) by earning multiple program certificates, serving as an officer for multiple different student clubs and organizations, completing an internship at the Community Legal Information Clinic (CLIC), being a student of the General Education Honors Program, sitting as a voting member on many councils and committees, and working for the Associated Students, Government Affairs, as the elected 2019-2020 Senator of the College of Behavioral & Social Sciences. Our campus has so many resources, organizations, and programs that students have the opportunity to get involved with, and as a result, be further educated. I believe that receiving an education constitutes not only academic development, but also the proficiency of skills in leadership, self-sufficiency, civic engagement, networking, and personal interests. I realize that some students require more assistance, or different treatment, in order to complete their college experience, and I will do whatever it takes to ensure those students are given the opportunity to achieve their goals. I am also aware that my privilege gives me an advantage over many

underrepresented groups, which is why I plan to use my voice to amplify the concerns of those students who do not feel heard, and take action creating change, and advocacy, for students who have struggled with feeling the University was not on their side. My ultimate goal is to ensure every student is given the support they individually need to be successful and graduate from CSU, Chico with a complete education. Please do not hesitate to reach out, or schedule a meeting with me! I look forward to meeting with you! Please feel free to stop by BMU 220 or email me at easnyder@csuchico.edu
