College of Natural Sciences, Senator

Nirvana Almada

San Diego, CA | Biochemistry

Hi everyone! I am Nirvana Almada and have the privilege in serving as your elected Senator for the College of Natural Sciences! I am currently majoring in biochemistry and after receiving my BS in Biochemistry I plan on going on to Graduate School. I am involved around campus as a member of the Chemistry Club, a Supplemental Instructor for the Student Learning Center, and an active research student in the chemistry department.

This next year serving as your Senator I hope to achieve several goals, first including organizing monthly meetings for all the College of Natural Sciences clubs to get together for some fun activities and to get to know one another. I also plan to organize alumni panels for all departments, support all students learning needs in any way I possibly can, as well as strike up conversations within our various departments on how we can become a more sustainable and environmentally friendly college.

There are a number of students taking courses within the College of Natural Sciences whom may not have their major within the college. Despite that, I still want to support all students partaking in any part of the College of Natural Sciences, and will start by saying that our wonderful clubs offer free tutoring services available to anyone!

I’m so excited to take on this next year with you all and please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
