College of Natural Sciences, Senator
Visalia, CA | Biology and Humanities
Hi! My name is James Lawrence, and I’m happy to say I have the privilege of serving as your academic Senator for the College of Natural Sciences. I’m pursuing majors in Biology and humanities, with minors in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Following graduation, I plan on attending medical school and pursuing a career in health policy. Currently, I’m involved around our campus as a research assistant in Dr. Parameshwaran’slab, as an SI Leader for Chem-270, and previously served as Chair of the NSCStudent Council’s OrganizationsCommittee.I plan to hit the ground running this fall, with the continuation of the Student Council’s current positions, as well as the addition of some new ones. These positions will not only provide the possibility for members of our College to make their voices heard, but also create an influx of alternative perspectives and create new latitudes for everyone within the College of natural sciences. Along these lines, the implementation of a STEM mentorship program and the appointment of a Commissioner of Community Outreach to the Student Council are some of my top priorities, as they embody the spirit of involvement and reciprocity that we as Wildcats have a responsibility to personify. I’m excited to work with you all and look forward to making a lasting change within not only our college, but the University as a whole.
