Scholarships and Awards

The Associated Students sponsors a variety of scholarships and awards to recognize students who have excelled in the areas of service, academics, and job performance. The AS Student Achievement Reception is hosted each spring to honor all award recipients.   • Associated Students Government Campus/Community Activities Scholarship
    This scholarship is sponsored by the Associated Students Government Affairs Office.
    Eligibility:
    a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated interest and involvement in on-campus and off-campus activities.
    Minimum GPA: 2.5
    Amount: Two annual awards of $400 each

 

  • Associated Students Government Academic Scholarship
    This scholarship is sponsored by the Associated Students Government Affairs Office.
    Eligibility: a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated interest and involvement in on-campus and off-campus activities.
    Minimum GPA: 3.0
    Amount: Two annual awards of $400 each

 

  • Ron Rohde Scholarship
    This scholarship is funded by the family of Ron Rohde in memory of both he and his father. Ron was a Chico State alumni and former CAVE staff member.
    Eligibility: recipients are CAVE volunteers who demonstrate outstanding commitment and service. Preference is given to volunteers who serve in one of CAVE’s Kids Programs.
    Minimum GPA: 3.0
    Amount: Two annual awards of $1,000 each

 

  • Maggie Pattison Award
    This award is sponsored by Maggie Pattison, a dedicated AS employee who supported countless student leaders during her 23 years of professional service to the Associated Students.
    Eligibility: a full-time graduate or undergraduate student who, through active involvement in Student Government at California state University, has demonstrated a high level of commitment and volunteer service. The applicant must be active in student government during the spring of the year selected. The applicant must provide a 250 word written statement explaining the importance of their on-campus activity involvement.
    Minimum GPA: 2.5
    Amount: One award annually. Amount varies from $250-$500.

  • Longs Award for the Outstanding CAVE Volunteer
    This award is sponsored by Longs Drugstores.
    Eligibility: a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding community service as a field volunteer in any CAVE program (this may include CAVE staff provided they have served as a field volunteer).
    GPA Requirements: None
    Amount: One annual award of $500

 

  • Community Affairs Council Award for the Outstanding CAVE Staff Member
    This award is sponsored by the Community Affairs Commissioner in AS Student Government.
    Eligibility: a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the philosophy of service/volunteerism as demonstrated by his/her contributions while serving on CAVE staff.
    GPA Requirements: None
    Amount: Two annual awards (one for fall and spring semester) of $250 each

 

  • AS Students of the Year
    This award is sponsored by the Associated Students and is coordinated by the Human Resources office.
    Eligibility: Students must be employed by or have volunteer status through the Associated Students. Students must be nominated with a letter of support addressing the student’s qualifications in terms of contribution, initiative, quality of work, attitude, reliability, and customer service.
    GPA Requirements: None
    Amount: Five annual awards of $250 each. Each recipient represents one of the five AS corporate areas: AS Programming, Administration, Dining, Bookstore, and Student Union.
