How did you first get connected with AS Government Affairs?
I was looking for job that would work with my schedule and allow me to get more involved on campus.
How would you describe your role as the Minute Taker for AS Government Affairs?
My role as minute taker is very interesting. I get the opportunity to learn about student organizations and events on campus in a way that most students don’t. Having this position allows me to learn a lot about the “ins-and-outs” of program or event planning, teamwork and collaboration. It’s exciting to see firsthand how hard students/faculty work every day to best serve Chico State students.
What does working for AS Government Affairs do for you personally, professionally, or academically?
This experience has allowed me to form awesome relationships with students and faculty, while also building upon professional skills that I will use throughout my life. Working for AS Government Affairs has taught me a lot about time management, collaboration and the importance of interpersonal relationships.
What do YOU bring to the table in your role as the Minute Taker for Government Affairs?
As minute taker, I believe I’m dependable, reliable and bring a positive energy to those I work with. I look forward to coming to work every day and helping out all officers and senators and staff!
What are your career plans and how does your role with the Associated Students better prepare you for that path?
My ultimate goal is to become a Licensed Clinical Social worker. My position has prepared me to be detail oriented and allowed me to witness how policies can effect a wide group of people. This will be valuable when making decisions to creating positive change that could impact a large population and future clients I serve.
