Spring 2018 CAVE Volunteer Applications and Service Learning Packets are due Friday, February 9th!
Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) is a student-run, non-profit volunteer organization, offering more than 12 volunteer programs.
CAVE’s mission is to provide Chico State students with meaningful volunteer opportunities, to develop student leaders, and to serve a broad base of community needs. Our philosophy is the community should be a classroom for hands-on learning, and our motto is “Life is for Learning.” – Testimonials
Established in 1966, our student-run programs serve children, older adults, people experiencing homelessness as well as working on environmental projects and with local animal shelters. We also assist with placements for students enrolled in service learning courses.
Annually, more than 2,000 students provide 60,000 plus hours of community service through CAVE!
A CAVE volunteer or service learning experience gives students a chance to:
- Make new friends
- Explore career and personal interests
- Develop job skills
- Increase self-confidence
- Enrich your education
- Make a difference for others and in your community
