Adventure Outings is offering a fresh lineup of trips this semester, including mountain training, art in nature, surfing on the coast, and volunteering in our local wildlands. Whether you’re looking for personal growth, creative inspiration, or to get outside more, AO has something for you.

Summit Train & Trip

September 15th - November 11th

Summiting a mountain is synonymous with accomplishment and growth. This trip is the perfect opportunity for just that. In collaboration with the WREC’s group exercise instructors, you will train with a group of fellow adventurers in preparation for a summit trip. This trip is ideal for those who want to explore the outdoors and also focus on improving their physical fitness.

It is an 8-week training program that will prepare you for exploring mountainous terrain. Training sessions are held in the WREC beginning September 15th, Tuesdays (6:30 pm-7:15 pm) and Thursdays (9:00 am-9:45 am).

Nature Art Retreat

September 13th - 14th

What better place to feel inspired and creative than in the tranquility and beauty of the natural world? Join AO for a rejuvenating weekend of arts and camping. This is an excellent trip if your joy comes from reflection and creativity. AO will provide art supplies, but we encourage you to bring your own implements and media that resonate with you. Whether your medium is fine art, music, photography, writing, or anything that brings you joy, you are welcome to join us on this trip, even if you don’t consider yourself an artist.

SLO Surfing

October 3rd - 4th

Surfing has returned to AO! This is the ultimate California trip, taking you all the way to San Luis Obispo. This trip includes transportation, instruction, campsites, and surfboards. Surfers of all skill levels are encouraged to join us as we explore the California coast.

BCCER Volunteer Day

October 17th

Spend a day helping out at the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve! Located on the ancestral land of the Mechoopda Indian Tribe, BCCER exists to preserve and steward critical habitat and to provide a natural area for environmental research and education. Put on some close-toed shoes and long-sleeved shirts, and let's help them out! Now more than ever, BCCER could use our help - bring your friends and plan for a solid day of volunteering!

For All Trips

No matter which adventure you choose, AO makes it easy to get outside. With transportation, guides, and most gear included, all you need to bring is your sense of adventure. Ready to join in? Register online or in the Equipment Room! Don’t forget, you can also apply for a scholarship online to help cover costs!
