Summer Group Exercise schedule is here!

We offer 7 different types of Group Exercise classes at the WREC, with a total of 24 classes a week in the summer. There is sure to be a perfect class for your schedule. We offer strength classes like ABS, Butts & Guts, and Boot Camp along with cardio-based classes like Zumba and Spin. Try a Yoga class if you need to stretch it out or find your “Zen”. New this summer is Barre Fitness, ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, and strength training. Our instructors lead the classes in a way that makes the workout appropriate for all fitness levels. There is no need to sign up for a class. Just show up to experience some fitness fun!

Class Descriptions

ABS - A core workout for all levels that focus on toning and defining abdominals- helping to maintain good posture and a healthy back. All levels welcome.

Butts N’ Guts -This class focuses just on your lower body! Sculpt, shape, and strengthen your abdominal, glutes, and thigh muscle groups in this lower body targeted workout.

Barre Fitness -This class combines ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, and strength training. You will use a ballet barre, and small equipment such as Bender balls, Glide disks, and light weights to strengthen and tone the muscles while maintaining flexibility and mobility of the joints.

Boot Camp - Inspired by some of the most popular Boot Camp style exercises, this class will work all the major muscle groups while getting your heart rate up for an intense cardio burn. Small equipment will be used to create a circuit-style workout that is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Dance Fit - This class is so fun, you won’t even realize that you are working out. Dance Fit combines Latin, current hits, and other international music with dance moves from all over the world. Previous dance experience is not required. Just be ready to move, shake and have a blast!

Interval Training - This action-packed class combines cardio and strength training intervals to help you increase speed, strength, and endurance. Be ready to sweat and burn some calories while having fun!

Kickboxing - Punch and kick your way to a super fun cardio workout. This class will focus on proper kickboxing techniques and combos that will keep your heart rate up! No previous kickboxing experience necessary.

Pilates - This system of physical conditioning involves low-impact exercises and stretches to increase flexibility, strength, balance, and body awareness. All fitness levels are welcome.

Spin/ 30 Minute Spin - Take your cardio workout to the next level with one of our great Spin classes. We even have 30-minute classes to keep you energized between classes or on your lunch break. You control the intensity of the workout which makes this class great for all fitness levels.

Restorative Yoga - The main focus of Restorative Yoga is that by relaxing in poses, with the aid of props, without strain or pain, we can achieve physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Restorative yoga classes are very relaxing and slow-paced.

Rhythmic Spin - This upbeat and motivating spin class relies heavily on the beat of the music to determine the tempo and intensity of the ride. Be ready for great music and a high-energy workout!

Spin & Strength - We like to switch things up in this class by getting cardio in on a Spin bike and resistance training with weights. Some classes are 30 minutes of Spin and 30 minutes of strength while other classes are taught with an interval style. Either way, you get the best of both worlds!

SUP Abs - Add some fun to your ab workouts by jumping onto one of our Stand-up Paddleboards in our amazing pool! This 30-minute abdominal workout will challenge your core with traditional ab exercises while incorporating in the balance aspect of the Paddleboard. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels.

SUP Pilates - Take your traditional Mat Pilates exercises onto our Stand-up Paddleboards for an extra fun core challenge. Pilates exercises are designed to improve core muscular endurance, flexibility, and posture. Adding the Paddleboard into this workout adds more core work for a fun-in-the-sun workout!

Tsunami - This is not your grandma’s aqua workout! In this high-intensity, interval pool workout, you will use the resistance of the water to kick your workout up a notch. This class will get your heart rate up and tone all the major muscles of your body while minimizing the impact on your joints. This class takes place in the shallow end of the pool so there is no swim experience necessary. All fitness levels are welcome.

Yoga - Use this mind and body practice to decrease your stress levels. Yoga combines physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation to promote mental and physical well-being. All levels welcome.

Zumba - Zumba is a super fun aerobic dance class that uses primarily Latin American dance rhythms and moves. This class moves between high and low-intensity routines to create an interval workout for your heart and lungs. No prior dance experience is necessary and all fitness levels are welcome.


Please note: Exercise is not without its risks and this or any other exercise program many result in injury. Do not start this fitness program if your physician or health care provider advises against it advises against it, or if you have a medical or physical condition that may increase your risk of injury or death. If you experience faintness, dizziness, pain or shortness of breath at any time while exercising you should stop immediately. Those following the workout routines do so at their own risk.
