Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean. -John Muir
From August 18 to August 23, 2013 Adventure Outings helped 8 folks follow the wisdom of John Muir.
Following the route above (click for full size) the group hiked over 27 miles while visiting some beautiful areas such as: Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp, Tuolumne Falls, Polly Dome Lake, Tenaya Lake, Sunrise High Sierra Camp and the Cathedral Lakes.
Highlights from the trip included amazing scenery (duh!), wildlife sightings, swimming in alpine lakes and crystal clear rivers, group bonding and lots of laughter. While overall the trip was extremely smooth the group did endure some hardships, as can be expected with any backcountry expedition or adventure. These included fatigue from travelling by foot at nearly 10,000 feet of elevation, multiple thunder and hail storms, and a driving detour on our return home due to a wildfire. Even with some minor difficulties the trip was extremely successful and we can't wait to do it again.
