We are very happy to announce that our summer 2017 Wildcat Wilderness Orientation (WWO) trips are now open for registration. WWO trips are a fantastic way for incoming students at CSU, Chico to become acquainted with college life through the outdoors and to make new friends. Experienced outdoor instructors, who are Chico State students themselves, guide the students on adventure-filled trips. The WWO leaders provide incoming students with insight and tips on living a successful, balanced college lifestyle through the implementation of a proven outdoor curriculum. But don't take our word for it, read what a past participant's parent had to say:
The trip was valuable in every way - she learned about smart use of her time in the face of all that freedom, talked about her (and others') biggest concerns about college, got pointers from peers-not parents, plus she stayed overnight in the dorms so now it's familiar, AND she now has a special bond with 8 new friends to get her started on campus. Two of them have inspired her to apply to the honors program and join a club. Can't thank you enough for the Wilderness Orientation program! I would love to see such a program started at the community college where I work.
