As students and faculty members are settling into school, CAVE has had a great kick off to the semester! Our leadership team is excited and prepared to tackle what this semester has in store with our new director Keith Crawford.

Keith received his bachelors in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at North Carolina State University. Later in 2012, he earned his masters in College Student Development at Appalachian State University. Shortly after, Keith relocated to Chico as the Program Coordinator of Adventure Outings. He was well-suited for Adventure Outings since his hobbies and interests include running, hiking, and camping with his dogs and fiancée. With years of experience and involvement on campus, it’s been an absolute pleasure to have Keith appointed as CAVE’s new director.

CAVE’s connection and involvement in the community showcases student’s abilities in making a difference while learning and growing as leaders. Having a diverse and professional leadership team is essential to thriving as an organization. These first couple of weeks have been very successful as CAVE orients many enthusiastic, new volunteers into their programs and the staff gets accustomed to their leadership roles. Keith has launched an exciting campus-wide survey and the feedback received will play a very informative role in deciding what the future of CAVE will look like. He is loving the position so far, he says “It has been quite challenging, yet rewarding, learning all that CAVE has to offer” while also mentioning his appreciation for the professional but fun environment of CAVE’s office. Keith would be happy to hear from anyone and can be reached at tkcrawford@csuchico.edu. Get to know our new director for yourself!
