Every fall and spring semester, the Associated Students Bike Hub hosts a bike auction, and proceeds are donated to the Adventure Outings Get Outdoors Fund which provides financial assistance to students to help them attend trips.

auction

The bike auction is open to students and the public to bid and buy all types of used bikes donated by Chico State University Police, Butte County Landfill, and the community.

The AS Bike Hub is located within the Wildcat Store in the Bell Memorial Union and is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Their services are open to students, staff, and faculty. Their fast repair services include flat tire repair, gear, brake adjustment, and much more.

Don’t forget to stay sustainable and opt out of driving to campus, if possible. Instead, ride your bike, skate, walk, or ride the B-Line buses. The B-Line bus is free and accessible to all students if you present your Wildcat Student ID. Not sure how to ride the bus? Check out this video.

When it comes to riding your wheels on campus, here are some rules to keep in mind:

bus
  • All wheels must be walked around campus unless you are on the designated bike path. This goes for all bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc.

  • Bike path users must yield to pedestrians.

  • Wheels speed is 5 MPH or less

  • Wear a helmet.

Using alternative modes of transportation offers numerous benefits not only to individuals but also to the planet. Embracing these alternative modes of transportation helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contributes to a cleaner environment.
