The Associated Students (AS) of California State University, Chico is a comprehensive, student-governed auxiliary corporation dedicated to enriching the campus experience and supporting the University’s educational mission. Serving thousands of students, faculty, staff, and community members, the AS delivers a broad portfolio of student programs, essential services, and business enterprises designed to foster student success, leadership development, and community engagement. 

With an annual operating budget exceeding $21 million, the AS manages major campus facilities and commercial operations, including residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union, and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC), and administers the contract for the Wildcat Store (bookstore).

In addition to its enterprise functions, the AS provides a diverse range of student-centered programs and services, including Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE), the Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Sustainability initiatives, and student government. These programs create hands-on leadership opportunities, support student wellbeing, and strengthen campus and community connections. 

The AS employs more than 125 full- and part-time career staff and over 450 student employees, making it one of the largest student employers on campus. Through its integrated governance, operations, and programmatic efforts, the Associated Students plays a central role in advancing engagement, service, and the overall student experience at CSU, Chico.

Position 
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief administrative and operational officer of the Associated Students (AS) of California State University, Chico, providing overall leadership, management, and oversight of AS operations, programs, and services. The ED establishes the vision and strategic direction of the organization in alignment with the University’s strategic plan and the needs of the broader campus community. The ED promotes student success, leadership development, and enhancement of the student experience while ensuring fiscal integrity, risk management, and operational effectiveness. The ED ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as AS, Chico State, and CSU policies. 

The Executive Director is an at-will employee of the Associated Students and reports to the Board of Directors.
