Community Action Volunteers in Education lovingly referred to as CAVE is a student led, student run organization that provides Chico State students with meaningful service opportunities. CAVE partners with local non-profit agencies to provide one-time and semester-long volunteer opportunities.

Weekend Wildcat Partner: CAVE’s Weekend Wildcat program provides one-time volunteer opportunities for Chico State Students to work with a variety of local agencies. Weekend Wildcats are typically Saturdays from 9am-12pm. We are seeking community organizations who have 3-hour projects for a group of 10-20 volunteers. Projects should provide 3-hours of meaningful service and meet a community need. Requests to host a Weekend Wildcat event in partnership with CAVE should be submitted at a minimum of 4-6 weeks in advance. We have the following pre-set dates available
- Saturday, March 11 from 9am-12pm
- Friday, March 31 from 9am-12pm (Cats in the Community – multiple service sites)
- Saturday, April 15 from 9am-12pm
- Saturday, April 29 from 9am-12pm

Semester-Long Program Partner: CAVE offers a variety of semester-long volunteer programs in the local community. Semester-long volunteer programs run for 10-weeks and CAVE volunteers provide 3 hours of service per week (total of 30 hours required). Semester-long programs must have the capacity to support service activities for a minimum of 5 volunteers 3-hours per week for 10 weeks.
