Program Description
The Tutoring program provides volunteers an opportunity to work one-on-one and in small groups with local school children (K-12th grade) who need help with homework or in specific subject areas. The majority of the children are in elementary school so basic reading, writing, and mathematics are the skills required of a volunteer. The Tutoring program meets in the CAVE office, providing students not only tutoring support but the added benefit of exposure to the rich environment of life on a university campus.
Location
CAVE office, BMU 220.
Why Volunteer?
In this program, you are truly making a difference in a child’s life. Volunteers see first-hand the impact they make in a child’s life. When tutoring, it is not about what volunteers can remember from grade school, but about giving encouragement and creating confidence in children.
