Program Description
The Hungry Wildcat Food Pantry combats food insecurity by providing a wide assortment of nutritious food products to Chico State students and staff. They specialize in the distribution of local, farm-direct, organic produce and foods. Pantry Volunteers will help the Basic Needs Department staff with cleaning and stocking the pantry, greeting students, staff, and faculty entering the pantry and assist with other projects as needed. Days/Times:
Consistent schedules will be set for the duration of the 10-week program. Shifts are set on weekdays, W-F between 8am-10:30am and Saturdays between 10am-12pm. Volunteers will be scheduled for 3 hours each week, in 1-hour, 1.5-hour or 2-hour slots. Availability for a minimum of 3 hours within the scheduled shift timeframes is required for this volunteer position.
Program Requirements:
Volunteers must complete an on-site training and obtain a food handler certification that the Basic Needs department will pay for.
