Program Description
The Hungry Wildcat Food Pantry combats food insecurity by providing a wide assortment of nutritious food products to Chico State students and staff. They specialize in the distribution of local, farm-direct, organic produce and foods.

Types of Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Pantry Volunteers: help clean and stock the pantry, greet students entering the pantry and help with other projects
  • Outreach Volunteers: help promote the pantry and Basic Needs at tabling events, prepare and roll pop up pantries to partner sites, present on behalf of the pantry around campus

Location of Program:
On campus in the Student Services Center and tabling at various locations on campus.

Days/Times:
Consistent shift(s) either two 1.5-hours shifts or one 3-hour shift per week. Schedules will be set by our Community Partner at the Pantry. Stocking Shifts will be between the hours of 8:30am-10:30am.

Program Requirements:

Volunteers must complete a food handlers certification that the Basic Needs department will pay for.
