Program Description
In partnership with Enloe Medical Center, CAVE provides a unique volunteer opportunity for Chico State students in our SCRUBS program. SCRUBS volunteers intentionally round from room to room on assigned floors, meeting non-medical needs, providing emotional support, and partnering with staff in providing a caring environment. Applications for Fall 2024 will open on June 15th and will close on July 26th!

Enloe Medical Center, 1531 Esplanade

Days and Times
Volunteers must be available for one of the following shifts. Volunteers must choose consistent days throughout the semester and cannot alternate.

  • Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:00 - 5:30pm
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00 - 5:30pm

  • July 30, July 31, August 1 | Participate in a group interview at Enloe (Virtual)

Pre-Volunteer Requirements: Selected volunteers will then be required to complete a number of requirements, orientations, and trainings, including:

  • August 13 | Attend Enloe General Volunteer Orientation | 9:00am-12:00pm (In Person)
  • August 26 or August 27 | Attend CAVE Orientation | 4:00-5:30pm (In Person)
  • August 27 | Complete and submit Health Screening including:
    • 2 TB tests
    • Immunization records
    • Covid vaccination required
    • 14 days of self-monitoring
  • September 4 | Deadline to submit:
    • Completed Health Screening Authorization Form
    • Code of Conduct signature page (from online lessons)
    • 14 days of self-monitoring
  • Sept 4, 9, 11, 16 (M/W Volunteers) | Attend Enloe Training | 4:00-5:30pm
    Sept 3, 5, 10, 12
    (1T/Th Volunteers) | Attend Enloe Training | 4:00-5:30pm
  • September 18 (M/W Volunteers)| First Day of Volunteering | 4:00-5:30pm
    September 17 (T/Th Volunteers) | First Day of Volunteering | 4:00-5:30pm
