Program Description
In partnership with Enloe Medical Center, CAVE provides a unique volunteer opportunity for Chico State students in our SCRUBS program. SCRUBS volunteers intentionally round from room to room on assigned floors, meeting non-medical needs, providing emotional support, and partnering with staff in providing a caring environment. We are currently accepting applications for Spring 2023.

Location
Enloe Medical Center, 1531 Esplanade

Days and Times
Volunteers must be available for one of the following shifts. Volunteers must choose consistent days throughout the semester and cannot alternate.

  • Mondays & Wednesdays, 2:00 - 3:30pm
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00 - 3:30pm

Application and Pre-Volunteer Requirements

January 7 | Deadline to submit application with 2 letters of recommendation. Review the guidelines for letters of recommendation. Download the SCRUBS application instructions.

January 9 at 2pm | Participate in a group interview at Enloe.

January 17 | Attend Enloe General Volunteer Orientation

January 23 or 24 | Attend CAVE Orientation | 2:00-3:30pm

February 1 | Complete and submit Health Screening including:

  • 2 TB tests
  • Immunization records
  • Covid vaccination required
  • 14 days of self-monitoring

February 1, 6, 8, 13 (M/W Volunteers) | Attend Enloe Training | 2:00-3:30pm
February 7, 9, 14, 16
(T/Th Volunteers) | Attend Enloe Training | 2:00-3:30pm

February 15 (M/W Volunteers)| First Day of Volunteering | 2:00-3:30pm
